I'm not even going to get into that whole feud because in my opinion, it was blown way out of proportion. You know that Etta said she couldn't stand Beyonce ( but I ask, how many can ? ) but according to E!, she says it was pure comedy. Now be it comedy or not, we know who the bad chick is. Beyonce did a good job in her rendition of At Last and her portrayal of Etta in Cadillac Records was great but we know Ms. Etta wears the crown. I had the blessed and fortunate opportunity to see Beyonce do it live and she sounds better doing it on wax versus a live performance. I'll let you decide, though."I didn't really mean anything," James told the New York Daily News of her onstage aside. "Even as a little child, I've always had that comedian kind of attitude...That's probably what went into it."
"Nobody was getting mad at me in Seattle," she added. "They were all laughing, and it was funny." Her little speech did not arise "from a vicious place."
What do you think? Beyonce sounds ok but in my opinion, it takes a certain soul to do this song. Etta takes it all.
