Obsessed

My mom called me earlier and asked if I wanted to go see Obsessed with her and I agreed since the Mister wasn't interested in seeing it. The movie was good, exceeding my expectations. I think this was one of Beyonce's best performances (besides her portrayal of Etta James in Cadillac Records). She got into character for this, something she doesn't do often for her movie roles.

I'm sure everyone wants to know about the fight scene. If I had to grade it, I'd give it a B- and only because she didn't go "H-TX" on her. But it was done perfectly. There were a few scenes that I didn't care for but overall, the movie gets a C- from me. I'm not a huge fan of Beyonce, let alone her acting but she stepped up to the plate with this one. I recommend you going to see it, whether you like it or not.

With that small review given, the movie made me think about some things. What would I do if my husband had a secretary who was obsessed with him it was causing me all kinds of hell at home? Or what would I do if I were in Lisa's shoes and there was a man that I just had to have? I sat there watching this woman and it dawned on me that there's a lot of women out there in either Lisa's (the temp) or Sharon's (the wife) shoes. I mean, this lady was laid up in Sharon and Derek's bed like she belonged there. The way her character played out, it was like she really believed they were supposed to be together. As a wife, how do you handle that? When your husband's temp is accusing him of a crime and he's saying he doesn't know, how do you deal with that? Then I put myself in Sharon's shoes. I think she acted accordingly, at first thinking he was cheating and then finding out that it was deeper than that. I just don't know if I would have let her live...but that's just me. To make the movie better, they should've had Beyonce's character kill Ali Larter's character like an epsiode of Snapped. I bet that would've gotten the movie higher reviews! LOL
